NBA SEASON CONTINUES
Florida State basketball will be taking on the Florida A&M Rattlers on Sunday in the Tucker Center to watch former quarterback and point guard Charlie Ward get his jersey retired. This will be an exciting time for the Seminoles fan base.
The Florida State football team doesn’t have a game this week, as they have a bye before playing the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. This is probably a good thing for individuals, since there is a large majority that have given up on the squad.
Nonetheless, this seems to be a good night to watch some NBA basketball to enjoy your Friday night.
SCOTTIE BARNES IN ACTION
Fans will be happy to see former Florida State forward Scottie Barnes had himself a performance as his Raptors beat the Atlanta Hawks on the road by a score of 138-118.
Toronto was aided by three 20-point scorers in forward RJ Barrett (25), forward Scottie Barnes (22), and guard Gradey Dick (21). It also helps when forward Brandon Ingram collected 16 points.
Barnes showed his aggression in the pain, where all of his fourteen shots happened. He also had nine assists and six rebounds to help the cause. His offensive output was great and all, but his length on defense makes opposing players think twice before passing the basketball.
Barnes averaged 19.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game last season, so this is something that individuals know that he brings to the table. If he could ever develop a three-point shot for himself, he could be even more deadly.
However, tonight will be where he and his Raptors squad take on forward Giannis Antetokounmpo at 6:30 PM EST under the lights in Toronto. Antetokounmpo is coming off a game against the Wizards, where he recorded 37 points. Barnes is looking to have an even better performance tonight.
