LCTA ratifies agreement for 2% salary increase, parental leave, other provisions

  • March 25, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – After months of salary negotiations, the Leon Classroom Teachers’ Association has ratified its tentative agreement.

The new plan includes about a 2% raise, five extra days of parental leave, free before and after-school care and leave buy-back provisions.

LCTA first reached an agreement on Oct. 2 last year, but two weeks later it was not ratified as some members voted against it.

Earlier this month, a new tentative agreement was reached, which brought the total salary increase to 2%.

LCTA said in a social post Wednesday that over 50% of instructional staff of Leon County Schools (LCS) have voted to ratify the agreement by a 75%-25% margin.

The agreement is expected to go before the school board for approval in two weeks.

According to the agreement, payment reflecting the salary increase is expected to be issued “as quickly as possible.”
