Twenty-three players from the USL Championship are set for international duty this week, with Tampa Bay Rowdies goalkeeper Jahmali Waite and Louisville City FC midfielder Kevon Lambert hoping to lead Jamaica into its first FIFA World Cup since 1998 as the country competes in the Intercontinental Playoff in Mexico.

Jamaica will face New Caledonia on Thursday night (11 p.m. ET | FS1 & Peacock) for the chance to advance to face the Democratic Republic of the Congo next Tuesday for a place in this summer’s World Cup.

Also in competitive action is New Mexico United’s Zico Bailey, who will try to help the Philippines qualify for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The Philippines faces Tajikstan next Tuesday with Bailey and his teammates needing victory to advance to the AFC Asian Cup for just the second time in the country’s history.

– The Charleston Battery set a new season-high for shots in a game this season with 28 shots against Birmingham Legion FC in its 3-2 comeback victory at Patriots Point. The combined 40 shots between the Battery and Legion were joined in logging the most combined shots in a game this season by Indy Eleven and Detroit City FC on Saturday night at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

– Sacramento Republic FC’s Danny Vitiello posted his seventh penalty kick save in the USL Championship regular season on Saturday night against Monterey Bay FC, moving to 7 of 22 for his career facing penalties. Vitiello is now only one penalty save from equaling the league’s all-time record of eight stops held by Jeff Caldwell, who saved 8 of 20 penalty kicks he faced during his career.

– San Antonio FC’s Mitchell Taintor moved into the top five in league history in regular season minutes as he reached 22,248 minutes for his career, passing former Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC star Kenardo Forbes. Four of the top five players in minutes played are currently active in the league, with No. 1 Sean Totsch (24,420), No. 2 Aodhan Quinn (24,378) and No. 4 Phanuel Kavita (22,594) also in the group.

– Tampa Bay Rowdies forward Evan Conway’s late goal against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC saw him extend his scoring streak to four consecutive regular season appearances. Conway found the net in each of his final three regular season appearances for North Carolina FC to conclude the 2025 season.

– San Antonio FC defender Danny Barbir’s game-winning goal in his side’s 1-0 victory against New Mexico United was his first goal in the USL Championship since September 23, 2023 when he scored for Oakland Roots SC against Monterey Bay FC. Barbir has seven career goals in the league overall.

– The Charleston Battery’s Miguel Berry equaled this season’s single-game high with nine shots against Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday night at Patriots Point. Rhode Island FC’s Leo Afonso also recorded nine shots in his side’s contest against Sporting Club Jacksonville on March 14.
