Seventh Avenue in Tallahassee set to be repaved starting Monday

  • October 25, 2025

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Seventh Avenue in Tallahassee is set to be resurfaced starting Monday as part of the city’s last phase of a utility improvements project, per the city’s website.

The roadway is expected to be open to traffic with only one lane closed on Seventh Avenue between Centerville Road and Duval Street.

The city says the road resurfacing is expected to be completed by early 2026.

The utility improvements project began in 2023 with improvements on the sanitary sewer on Seventh Avenue and reconstruction of Cherry Street and Colonial Drive to improve the connection to Seventh Avenue.

“The water utility enhancements portion of the project began construction in June 2024 and included upgrading approximately 4,500 linear feet of existing water main and replacing water services and existing fire hydrants,” per the city’s website.

Crews will be on the roadway from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to the city of Tallahassee.
