James R. Mullins

OBITUARY

James R Mullins of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Granby, CT, passed away on March 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and deep love for his family.

Jim was known as an incredibly hard worker who took pride in everything he did. A talented excavation specialist in construction and site work, he had a natural skill for working with heavy equipment with meticulous precision. More than anything, he was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back—always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Outside of work, Jim found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved muscle cars, spending time on the golf course, and, most of all, being with his family. His strength, kindness, and big heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sally; his daughter, Jennifer Riggott, and her husband, Nick; his granddaughter, Sophie; his son, Tyler, and his fiancée, Morgan; and his sister Barbara Bisaillon and her husband Bob.

A celebration of life will be held on April 4th, 2:00-5:00 at Simsbury Fireman’s Clubhouse, 30 Town Forest Rd, West Simsbury, CT 06092.

Jim will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love. As he would say to Sophie, “It only hurts until the pain goes away.”
