TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Florida Board of Governors approved the transfer of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH) to Florida State University.
This final vote ensures that the TMH transfer is now fully approved.
Under the terms of the deal, FSU will pay the City of Tallahassee $109 million over thirty years as the sale price for the hospital. FSU also agreed to $250 million for facilities and research.

The proposed agreement was approved by the Tallahassee Commissioners on March 11 in a 3-2 vote.
The agreement voted upon by commissioners on March 11 did not have language in it to guarantee the two local universities a seat on the board. However, Williams-Cox said she remained confident Florida A&M University would get a seat.
The deal is now being closed at the staff level.
