Get in losers, we’re going to Ultra.

Miami Downtown Development Authority

We don’t have to tell you that getting around downtown Miami can be rough when Ultra Music Festival is here. Streets close down, traffic moves at snail speed and as for parking, you probably shouldn’t even think about it. Not to mention that this year’s festival, which runs Friday to Sunday at Bayfront Park, also coincides with a visit from President Donald Trump, who is among the MAGA figures headlining the Saudi investment summit underway at the Faena Hotel & Forum in Miami Beach.

The Miami Police Department announced earlier this week that detours for Ultra will begin on Thursday at 9 p.m. and remain in effect until Monday at 7 a.m., with traffic rerouted on parts of Biscayne Boulevard.

DETOURS FOR ULTRA
Beginning tomorrow, March 26 at 9 PM through March 30 at 7 AM:

• NB Biscayne Blvd → rerouted to SB lanes at SE 1 St
• SB Biscayne Blvd → rerouted west at NE 6 St
• Continue SB via NE 2 Ave or N Miami Ave
• No SB traffic on Biscayne Blvd from NE 6 St pic.twitter.com/XuNb3AFJWi

Miami-Dade Transit and the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) are trying to make getting around a little easier during the 26th edition of Ultra by extending service hours and offering free rides and walks around town.

The ride program, Freebee, is provided by the DDA and available throughout the Central Business District, Brickell, and the Arts & Entertainment District. You can request a ride by downloading the Freebee app on your phone. Although the cars have been available downtown for a while, the hours of operation will be extended for Ultra, running from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Escorted walks are being provided through the DDA’s Safety Walk program. A Downtown Ambassador will meet you and walk you to your destination until 2 a.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can request a walk by calling 305-415-3896.

Miami-Dade Transit is also extending its service hours, with Metrorail and Metromover service starting at 5 a.m. and running through 2 a.m. the following morning on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the service will end at midnight.

As mentioned in our Ultra Survival Guide, the Brightline is your best bet if you’re coming from Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach. You can even start the party early by taking the Silent Disco Premium Experience, a “one‑time, one‑direction southbound train” that arrives in Miami shortly before festival gates open at 3:20 p.m. Friday.
