A stylized group portrait of the four-member rock band Florida. On the far left, frontman Billy Summer stands with arms crossed, wearing a tan trucker jacket, a red patterned headband, and large aviator sunglasses with a red-and-white frame. To their right, three other band members pose against a deep red velvet stage curtain. The second member has long dark hair and dark glasses; the third wears a black hat and coat with a floral shirt; and the fourth, on the far right, wears a white fedora-style hat and a dark jacket. The lighting is dramatic, casting a moody glow over the group.Florida Credit: floridausa / bandcamp

Tampa Bay’s live music weekend has arrived, and it’s all over the place, from old-school acts (Warren G, Slim from 112) to righteous homegrown rock and rollers playing no-cover concerts in the park (Florida, pictured above).

Look below for Music Week, a listing of the best live music happening across Tampa Bay from Friday, March 27-Thursday, April 2.

This listing is compiled by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay contributors and staffers, then supplemented with select gigs on . Don’t see your show here? it yourself.

Friday, March 27

Sauce Pocket w/Tamayo Sauce Pocket plays a support set for astro-jazz outfit Dionysus on Thursday, but comes to Tampa the night after to headline the Skipperdome ahead of the three-day Fox Fam Jam happening next month at Brooksville’s Florida Sand Music Ranch. The jazz-tronic unit was among the Bay area’s best instrumental bands in 2024 and is joined by funky Latin-ish jam outfit Tamayo under the oak trees. Friday, March 27. 7 p.m. $10. Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa

Only R&B: Slim of 112 In the late-’90s and early aughts, Marvin Scandrick’s falsetto was on JVC stereos across the country as young folks lost their virginity. His group, 112, won a Grammy for its slow jams, but he’s been on a solo journey since 2008 when the 45-year-old released Love’s Crazy. Last year, Scandrick, better known as Slim, dropped a new single, “Somebody to Love.” On a weekend that sees Warren G come to Busch Gardens, Slim’s set at The Grove is a pretty good reason for old-school heads in the Chap to stay closer to home or pull a double-header. Friday, March 27. 7 p.m. $16.30 & up. Krate at The Grove, Wesley Chapel

Saturday, March 28

Rentfest III: Tone I.E. w/Floating Boy/Joheen Ason/Severed Silence/Emmpower/Scissor Blade/more We don’t know where Rentfest organizers plan to put more than a dozen bands on two stages, but live music fans that DM them can find out. The soundtrack will be on point, too, thanks to this eclectic lineup of heartbreak-pop singers (Tone I.E.), emo outfits (Floating Boy), DJs (Emmpower), rappers (Joheem Ason, Nimbu$), hardcore bands (Scissor Blade) and more.  Saturday, March 28. 6 p.m. $15-$20. DM @rentetechnology for address

Rockabilly Battle Royale Round 11: Shaun Young w/Laura Hope & Andrea Maddox/Johnny Safford/Hot Rod Hornets Break out a black leather jacket and those jeans that barely fit. Shaun Young, vocalist and rhythm guitar for ‘90s-era Austin, Texas rockabilly trio High Noon brings a new band to the 11th annual Rockabilly Battle Royale. The get together is a full on revival of the storied American sound, and Young will be joined by bassist Lara Hope who is in a band with Hey Y’alls frontwomen Andrea Maddox, plus old-timey Rhode Island picker Jonny Safford and St. Pete’s own Hot Rod Hornets. Saturday, March 28. 6 p.m. $20. Music Hall at New World Brewery, Tampa

Sunday, March 29

Arenas, Lasky & Nash Project: The Bacharach Book Early this month, Alejandro Arenas, Simon Lasky and Allison Nash started recording their debut album The Bacharach Book. Jazz audiences in the know have had plenty of chances to see the bass-piano-and-vocal trio better known as Arenas, Lasky & Nash Project perform material from the effort in a living-room style setting inspired by “MTV Unplugged.” Expect to hear a lot of Bachy’s material along with original work from the revered local musicians. Sunday, March 29. 3 p.m. $17.50 & up. New Tampa Performing Arts Center, Tampa

Tampa Food Not Bombs food drive & benefit show: Carpet Drugs w/Lilith Black/SB & JG/Choking on the Revelry Our friends, and our neighbors, are hungry. The Tampa chapter of long-running mutual aid group Food Not Bombs has always worked hard to help because humans have a right to food. The group is joined by the pop duo of Shae Krispinsky and Jeremy Gloff (aka Shower Beers), plus noise-rock outfit Carpet Drugs, and the Bearded Dragon of St. Pete, Lilith Black, for a food drive that benefits both a local community fridge and the Food Not Bombs chapter in Gaza. @tampafoodnotbombs has a list of pantry staples they’d love to get including canned veggies, pasta, dried beans, and more. Sunday, March 29. 6:30 p.m. Donations accepted. Deviant Libation, Tampa

Wednesday, April 1

Emo Night Tampa: Hovercar w/Blacksmith/Floating Boy/Deep Bite Deep Bite and Blacksmith have found themselves on bills together lately, and this gig curated by Emo Night Tampa is another chance to see an up-and-comer and OG, respectively, of the scene under the same roof. Homegrown grunge-rock trio Hovercar tops the offering along with Floating Boy, the Sarasota emo outfit that rang in the new year with Perfect Place (an early contender for one of the best Florida rock records of the year). Wednesday, April 1. 8:30 p.m. $12.49. Crowbar, Ybor City

Redd Kross w/Conan Neutron and the Secret Friends/Barely Pink Redd Kross’ Tampa ties are deep because of the late Eddie Kurdziel. The guitarist died in 1999, but not before laying down tracks for the Los Angeles power-pop band’s biggest albums, Phaseshifter and Show World. Kurdziel was also in ‘80s local new wave outfit Real Cameras. Expect Redd Kross’ McDonald brothers (Jeff, Steven) to talk about their comrade at this gig where Barely Pink—Tampa’s own, still active purveyors of singalong-ready pop-rock—have been added as last-minute support. Wednesday, April 1. 7 p.m. $35.06. Orpheum, Tampa

Thursday, April 2

Rock The Park: Florida w/Bill./Jacob Marcello  After bending the knee to illness that forced a Rock the Park cancellation in February, Bill. (stylized all-lowercase) finally gets to bring a loud, unforgiving debut LP, Wimmer, to the Curt. The Tampa rock outfit is in the heart of this bill where one of the Bay area’s original guitar gods, Billy Summer, leads his rock & roll outfit Florida through glamorous, fuzzy, and muscular riffs. Lime Street Band songwriter Jacob Marcello opens with a solo set in front of this family-friendly, BYOB-but-be-respectful, kind of crowd. Thursday, April 2. 6:30 p.m. No cover.
