TAMPA, Fla. — Travel for cyclists in Tampa looks to be getting a little easier.
Tampa officials hosted a city meeting Wednesday night to speak to neighbors about a project that will bring separated bike lanes to Morgan Street, from Brorein Street to Harrison Street.
“Safety will be better,” said Paula Flores of the group Walk Bike Tampa. “I’m a huge hockey fan, so it provides another way to get to some of these venues.”
The $500,000 project is expected to add connectivity to major parts of the city for bicyclists.
Project leaders say one reason Morgan Street was chosen for the project is that adding the separated bike lanes on a less congested street can bring a huge benefit to bicyclists, without taking away from drivers on one of our busier roadways.
