ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta ambulance was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on I-85 North in Gwinnett County Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened near the I-985 NB split around 1:30 p.m., closing all northbound lanes for about an hour and a half, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
A spokesperson for Children’s Healthcare confirmed one of its ambulances was involved in the crash. The spokesperson said no patients were in the ambulance and the crew was not seriously injured.

According to GSP, the driver of a Ram 1500 hit the front of the ambulance while changing lanes improperly before hitting a utility trailer hauled by an F-250. The F-250 then hit the ambulance before sideswiping a GMC Sierra.
The occupants of the Ram 1500 were taken to a hospital for minor injuries, GSP said.
