A Florida man recently did something that absolutely nobody expected, but everyone secretly needed to see: he rode his horse, Gitano, straight through a Chick-fil-A drive-through for a cold drink on the way home from a trail ride. Felipe Delamora captured the whole thing on a camera mounted to his glasses, and the resulting footage has since gone viral for all the right reasons.
Delamora says the stop was totally spontaneous. He was heading home after a ride, got thirsty, and made an executive decision that most of us have never had the audacity to consider. The staff inside, to their enormous credit, did not miss a beat.
Employee Mike greeted Gitano and Delamora with the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for a long-lost best friend. The crew immediately wanted to film it. Mike, visibly working through a range of emotions, stepped into traffic control mode when another car started pulling toward the same lane. One driver apparently thought better of it and chose the other side, which was a wise call. Merging with a horse is probably not covered in most insurance policies.
Mike’s first pressing concern, once the excitement settled slightly, was the POS system. “What do I even put as his description… horse?!” His coworker, completely unbothered, offered the only logical answer: “Put ‘Other.'” Honestly, a masterclass in composure.
Delamora ordered a Sunjoy, and Mike hooked him up with a large one at a discount. Because Chick-fil-A employees are just built different. Mike then grabbed his walkie-talkie to alert the rest of the store. The response from the back was apparently slow enough that he followed up with “Hello? Are they freaked out?” He told them to check the cameras. Turns out, the team had already clocked Gitano on the monitors and had been chatting about it. The horse simply walked in and became the talk of the building.
Another employee came out to ask for a photo for her daughter, who loves horses. Gitano, for his part, handled his sudden celebrity status with the grace of a seasoned professional.
The video cuts off shortly after because, as Delamora explained, the glasses he was filming with ran out of battery. Truly, the one villain in this story.
Is This Actually About Gas Prices? (Yes, Kind of)
When a commenter left the note “Gas prices crazy” under the video, Delamora replied simply: “Can’t afford it anymore.” Whether that was a joke or a genuine financial dispatch from the front lines of inflation is left as an exercise for the reader, but his TikTok page does show him using Gitano for school pickups, errands around town, and general leisure riding. The man is committed to the bit, if it even is a bit.
He is not entirely alone in this energy. A recent LendingTree study found that roughly 31% of Americans have already changed their spending or saving habits because of elevated gas prices, with another 35% saying they will if prices hold. More than 6 in 10 Americans with gas-powered vehicles say their finances would take a meaningful hit if high prices last even just a month longer.
Car enthusiasts may want to look away here, but the math on oats versus premium unleaded is starting to get interesting.
As for what Chick-fil-A can expect next in the drive-through lane, that remains unclear. But if you pull up behind something that has a tail, just go ahead and use the other lane.
