Central Florida residents upset about President Donald Trump’s policies made their anger public Saturday morning, taking part in “No Kings” protests across the region.
Hundreds gathered in Sanford ahead of the 10 a.m. protest in the city’s downtown. Thousands are expected to take part across the region, including at a noon protest at Orlando’s city hall.
The national protests kicked off in June and today’s are the third since then, with organizers saying they expected thousands to take part, angry about Trump’s immigration crackdown and the war in Iran.

In Sanford, Seminole County resident Kendra Musselle stood at a street on the corner and shouted into a megaphone at passing cars, imploring them to hook their horns.
She was waving a cartoon Donald Trump balloon and holding a handmade sign. This is the fourth anti-Trump protest she has attended in the past year and a half.
“Things have gotten progressively worse. Everyday there’s something else where our freedoms are being taken away,” Musselle said.
“It’s a shame because we all got better things to do on a Saturday. But there can be no better thing to do at this point in time.”
The Seminole County Democratic Party organized the protest, the third it has taken part in since Trump’s second term began.
Erin Kutner, events chair for the group, said she feels an increasing support for the party.
“The energy is really positive and exciting,” she said.
The first Seminole county protest had about 1,200 people and the second 2,400. Kutner expects today’s protest to be the largest one yet.
At 9:30am, about 600 people were already lined up along W. First Street and U.S. 17-92.
