A JUDGE SENTENCED ABRAHAM TO 50 YEARS BEHIND BARS AND HIS WESH TWO CHRISTINA WATKINS TELLS US. THE VICTIM’S WIFE SAYS THIS IS JUSTICE. ERIC. SCHNITZER’S FAMILY WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS DAY. HIS WIFE ECHOED A SIMILAR MESSAGE TO STATE ATTORNEY MONIQUE MOREL, SAYING, DON’T LET ANGER GET THE BEST OF YOU WHILE YOU’RE ON THE ROAD. JUST KEEP GOING, YOU KNOW, BE SAFE. HOLDING BACK TEARS, KERRY MCPHERSON TALKED ABOUT THE GRUELING COURT PROCESS FOR HER AND HER THREE SONS AS THEY WAITED TO FIND OUT HOW LONG THEIR DAD’S KILLER WOULD SPEND BEHIND BARS. IT’S BEEN NONSTOP WITH THE DELAYS AND THE. EVERYTHING WITH THE CASE, SO IT’S BEEN EXHAUSTING. SO IT’S A RELIEF TO FINALLY KNOW THAT IT HAS BEEN SERVED. THE ROAD RAGE SHOOTING HAPPENED IN JULY OF 2020. PROSECUTORS SAY NAEL ABRAHAM CHASED ERIC SCHNITZER THROUGH TRAFFIC BEFORE PULLING ALONGSIDE HIS CAR. THIS IS ON ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL AND CONSULATE DRIVE. INVESTIGATORS SAID ABRAHAM SHOT INTO SCHNITZER’S CAR, KILLING HIM. WE’RE HERE FOR THE SENTENCING OF MR. ABRAHAM. ON FRIDAY, A JUDGE SENTENCED ABRAHAM TO 50 YEARS IN PRISON WITH CREDIT FOR TIME SERVED. ABRAHAM’S FAMILY WATCHED HIM WALK AWAY IN A BLUE JUMPSUIT AND HANDCUFFS. HIS ATTORNEY SAID THEY HAVE QUESTIONS AND THEY’RE DISAPPOINTED. THEY WERE QUESTIONING PRIMARILY WHY A SENTENCE OF THAT MAGNITUDE WAS IMPOSED, AND I EXPLAINED THAT THE JUDGE DIDN’T OFFER AN EXPLANATION, SO I COULDN’T REALLY PROVIDE ONE TO HER. STATE ATTORNEY MONIQUE WORRELL SAYS TWO FAMILIES ARE NOW LEFT GRIEVING, AND THIS CASE SERVES AS A PAINFUL REMINDER OF THE DANGERS OF ROAD RAGE WHEN TENSIONS ARISE ON THE ROAD. DISENGAGE. The man convicted of killing a father of three in a 2020 road rage shooting in Orange County was sentenced to 50 years in prison, according to a judge. Nael Abraham was convicted of the death of Eric Schnetzer after a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder.According to prosecutors, the shooting happened in July 2020 after Abraham chased Schnetzer through traffic before pulling alongside his vehicle at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Consulate Drive. Investigators said Abraham then fired a shot into Schnetzer’s car, killing him.Prosecutors said Schnetzer, a husband and father of three, died from a gunshot wound to the head. In a previous statement to the court, Abraham addressed Schnetzer’s family and accepted responsibility for the shooting.“I’m truly sorry for the empty chair at your table,” Abraham said.
