Tampa Bay’s LGBTQIA+ and ally community came together at The Cuban Club in Ybor City yesterday for the inaugural Pride of Tampa Festival. The event was a multi-level celebration of unity, visibility, and connection. The historic venue set the stage for a day that blended live entertainment with community engagement across every floor.

With the Main Stage in the courtyard, the event also featured vendors and outreach booths both inside and outside the venue. There was a VIP lounge on the second floor with additional entertainment held in the large fourth floor ballroom. Entertainers kept the energy consistent across the performance area. WMNF’s Big Gay Radio Show’s own Vyn Suazion delivered a standout performance alongside Jay Miah. The Gay Men’s Chorus of Tampa Bay brought a very joyful and proud performance. Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Pride Band added a vibrant sound that carried through the courtyard.

Inside and out of The Cuban Club, local organizations and vendors played a major role in shaping the experience. Equality Florida connected with attendees on advocacy efforts, with Donald Ford Counseling focused on offering mental health awareness and support. Bell Pharmacy and Harmony Healthcare were also in attendance, among other amazing organizations, providing information on accessible care. Free Mom Hugs was on site as well, offering exactly what so many people needed, simple moments of support and connection.

The event marked Pride of Tampa’s inaugural year, following the announcement of the cancellation of Tampa Pride’s annual celebration. Those who are interested in attending future Pride of Tampa Events are encouraged to follow Pride of Tampa on Instagram and Facebook for more information.
