FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — Fort Myers police are investigating after officers pulled a body from a pond near the Westwood Apartments on Sunday.
The discovery happened just north of Metro Parkway and Winkler Avenue. Officers taped off a large section of the parking lot as investigators worked to recover the body from the water.
Investigators spent hours at the location behind the apartment complex.
The medical examiner’s office arrived to collect evidence and take photos. About eight police cars responded to the scene.
Officers blocked off a small portion of Metro Parkway North. A crowd of people gathered across the street to watch as the investigation unfolded.
Police have not yet determined whether foul play is involved.
