A 44-year-old woman is facing aggravated assault charges after Apopka police say she pointed a rifle at another woman and her son, who were walking down a street. Melissa IronNecklace is also accused of possessing a weapon as a convicted felon. Police said the incident happened on March 27. The victim said she was walking in the area of Christiana Avenue and Orange Street with her son when IronNecklace “popped up out of nowhere,” an arrest affidavit says. The woman said IronNecklace then asked how old her son was, and they exchanged a few words. Police said the victim’s sister-in-law was parked down the street and honked her horn.”At this point, the defendant pointed the rifle at the victim and then continued to walk away,” the affidavit says. Police found IronNecklace on East Semoran Boulevard still carrying the rifle.
