The owner of Silver Court, a mobile home park in Miami’s Little Havana, sent eviction notices to about 200 residents. Mario Molina, who rents a room at Silver Court mobile home, said most of his neighbors are vulnerable retirees, and some live with disabilities. “It’s heartbreaking,” Molina said.

Dario Miranda, who has been renting a mobile home at the park, at 7700 SW 8 St., for about 25 years, said he can’t afford to move out.

The deadline to move out is Sept. 30, but those who move out by May 31 will receive $10,000 in relocation payments, according to Attorney Jorge Piedra, who represents the property owner.

“The owner is focused on complying with the law, treating residents with respect, and providing relocation assistance that exceeds what the law requires so that families can transition to the next chapter of their lives with support and dignity,” said Piedra, the managing partner of Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton.

The eviction notice reported that the Florida Mobile Home Relocation Corporation was ready to assist the residents affected by a change in land use.

Piedra said that residents who don’t abide by the eviction’s deadline will eventually have it show on their credit reports.
