Morning Coastal Showers, then Partly Cloudy for South Florida
WE BEGIN WITH SANDRA TALKING ABOUT OUR FORECAST. YOU GOT IT. AND WE GOT A COUPLE OF COASTAL SHOWERS THIS MORNING. THE WINDS OUT OF THE EAST HAVE BEEN PRETTY PROMINENT EVEN SINCE YESTERDAY. BUT AGAIN, MORE SUNSHINE ON THE HORIZON TODAY. BUT WHERE IS IT? RAINING? RIGHT AROUND BOYNTON, JUST SOUTH OF WEST PALM, RIGHT OVER LAKE WORTH BEACH AND LANTANA. A LITTLE LIGHT RAIN ZIPPING ON IN FROM THE ATLANTIC. BRINY BREEZES AND BOYNTON BEACH, SOME SPRINKLES AND A PRETTY NICE SWATH OF RAIN HERE BETWEEN FLORIDA GARDENS, ABERDEEN AND SUN VALLEY, MOVING WEST OF THE TURNPIKE AND SOUTH OF WELLINGTON. SO HEADS UP YOU MIGHT NEED TO POP UP THE UMBRELLA AT LEAST EARLY THIS MORNING. THE SUPPORT FOR THAT COMES FROM THE EAST WINDS AT ABOUT 9 TO 13 MILES AN HOUR, WHICH IS PRETTY SUBSTANTIAL FOR THIS EARLY ON. TEMPERATURES REALLY NOT THE STORY. WE’RE IN FAMILIAR TERRITORY HERE IN THE LOW 70S. COUPLE UPPER 60S MOST SPOTS TREASURE COAST. YOU’LL SEE A HIGH OF AT LEAST 80 TODAY, BUT PROBABLY SKEWING ABOVE THAT BENCHMARK, WHICH IS OUR AVERAGE HIGH OF 80 TO ABOUT 82. WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE 78 TO 82. THE RANGE IN THE PALM BEACHES AS WELL. SO SEASONABLE, JUST A LITTLE BIT ABOVE AVERAGE. AND THAT TREND WILL ACTUALLY TAKE US THROUGH THE REST OF THIS WEEK. GOING TO BE A WARMER WEEKEND WITH 84 SATURDAY AND A BETTER CHANCE OF SOME SCATTERED RAINFALL AS WELL. WE’LL SEE THAT ON EASTER SUNDAY.
