The Village of Palmetto Bay’s annual tasty burger competition, the “Battle of the Buns,” will take place on Saturday, Apr. 18, and will feature a live concert by Cutler Stew. It all happens from 5 to 8 p.m.at Coral Reef Park, 7895 SW 152 St., Palmetto Bay.
Community members and businesses will battle it out to win “Best Battle of the Buns Burger.” A fee of $10 will purchase five professional burger sample tickets. Adult beverages and food will also be available for sale.

Top Buns (restaurants pros)
Contestants in the professional category only must provide 300 bite-sized samples for guests for which a $250 stipend will be provided to be paid at the event, according to event planners. Backyard Chefs may not provide any samples to the public and no stipend will be provided for this category.
A panel of judges will blind taste and evaluate the burgers, selecting one winner for the Best Burger (winner based on overall score) in each category.
Bun-derdogs winner gets $250, trophy, yard sign to display for bragging rights as the best amateur burger, recognition on social media and Miami’s Community Newspapers.
Top Buns winner gets $500, trophy, vinyl door sticker for bragging rights as the best burger in Palmetto Bay, full page ad ($2,000 value) in the 2027 edition of the Village of Palmetto Bay’s Play-by-Play (delivered to all residents in early 2027), recognition on social media and Miami’s Community Newspapers.
Fees to enter (plus tax and 3 percent service fee) sre Bun-derdogs, $25, and Top Buns, $75 (Registration fee permits restaurants to sell food at the event, with the submission of all required vendor documentation.) Optional rental of tent, tables and chairs.
