Tickets are available for the Captiva Island Historical Society’s (CIHS) final season program.

The 11th film in its Captiva Memories Collection, the CIHS will premiere “Al, Bix, Ding, Kent: Captiva’s Awesome Foursome” on April 8 at 7 p.m. at BIG ARTS on Sanibel, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The documentary celebrates four extraordinary individuals whose lives — and friendship — helped shape the cultural fabric of Captiva Island.

Produced by acclaimed documentarian and award-winning broadcast journalist Ken Sneeden, the film brings to life the compelling stories of Alice O’Brien, Harold Bixby, Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling and Kent Curtiss — four remarkable personalities whose adventures, achievements and enduring bond left an indelible mark on the island’s history.

Through rare archival film, engaging storytelling and historical insight, “Captiva’s Awesome Foursome” reveals how, individually, each played a significant role in Captiva’s heritage — and how, together, they became an unstoppable force of creativity, conservation and community.

The documentary also features a rare and intimate look inside J.N. “Ding” Darling’s personal home movies, offering viewers a unique glimpse into the lives behind the legends.

A television station executive, Sneeden founded his Fort Myers-based multimedia company in 1991, which produces high-impact videos and multimedia presentations for national clients. In 2016, he brought his skills to the islands. His research ethic, along with his passion for local history, has resulted in numerous documentaries created for the CIHS and the Sanibel Historical Museum and Village.

Tickets are $25 per person.

A cash bar will be available.
