HOLLY HILL, Fla. – A simple traffic stop in Holly Hill this month escalated after an officer found illicit substances inside, according to new footage released by the police department.
In a release, police said the stop happened on March 10 around 8 p.m. after a black pickup truck was seen speeding 65 mph in a 35-mph zone along Ridgewood Avenue, all with its headlights off.
“Upon approaching the driver, identified as Lisa Carpenter, the officer observed some opened alcohol bottles within her reach,” the release reads. “When asked if she had any weapons or illegal items in the vehicle, Lisa showed signs of restlessness and appeared increasingly nervous and uneasy.”

As a result, the officer searched the vehicle, finding drug paraphernalia, 44.1 grams of cocaine, 11.3 grams of marijuana, and a loaded handgun.
Body-camera video released by the department shows the confrontation between Carpenter and the officer, where Carpenter states, “It’s not my truck.”
Regardless, Carpenter was arrested and now faces charges of cocaine trafficking, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of cannabis. She is held on bond of $251,000.
