The Jacksonville community is invited to join together at noon Friday for Jacksonville Area Conference of Church’s Good Friday Service.

Speakers and participants from churches throughout the area will mark the day, which reflects on the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. The event is hosted by Centenary United Methodist Church at 331 E. State St.

The service will feature a presentation titled, “Voices from the Crowd” that will offer various perspectives from the cross. The event will include music by Mary Fergurson on oboe and Devon Carpenter on harp.

A free-will offering will benefit the Senior Chaplaincy, an organization that assists pastors who visit and offer services to seniors and shut-ins in the Jacksonville community.

Jacksonville Area Conference of Churches is an ecumenical organization made up of the churches in the Jacksonville and Morgan County area.
