THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) — New information has been released following an alleged incident involving two teenage girls at a Thomasville Walmart late last month.
According to the Thomasville Police Department, Rogelio Tomas-Sebastian has been arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful eavesdropping and surveillance, both felonies under Georgia law.
The charges stem from an incident reported on Thursday, March 26, at the Walmart located at 15328 U.S. 19 South.
Rogelio Tomas-Sebastian has been arrested and charged.
Earlier reports indicated that two 16-year-old girls were inside a fitting room trying on clothes when they noticed what appeared to be a phone camera peeking through a grate. The girls immediately left the area and reported the situation to a store associate.
According to one of the girls’ mothers, the associate told them there were no cameras in the fitting room area. After returning home, the teens contacted 911 to report what they had experienced.
Authorities later launched an investigation into the incident. Details released from the Thomasville Police Department’s Facebook page confirm that Tomas-Sebastian was identified and taken into custody in connection to the case.
At this time, officials have not released additional details about the investigation. The case remains ongoing.
Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
