Miami RedHawks forward Brant Byers will enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports Tuesday.
Byers, a 6-foot-9 redshirt sophomore forward, ranked second on the team with 14.2 points in the 2025-26 season. He was named the Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year in 2025 after averaging 8.5 points and made the All-MAC second team in 2026.
The transfer portal officially opens April 7, though athletes can declare their intention to enter before then.
Byers helped lead the RedHawks to an undefeated regular season, a school-record 32 victories and their first NCAA tournament berth since 2007.
Byers is the first Miami player to enter the portal this spring. Miami lost three players to the portal in 2025, including second-leading scorer Kam Craft, who transferred to Georgia Tech
