The home for specialty poutines and soft-serve ice cream near the entrance to EPCOT’s World Showcase has been closed for refurbishment since January 12. Now, a new permit has been filed for the installation of set elements.
Construction walls currently still extend from the side of Swirled Showcase, around Refreshment Port, ending before the Canada pavilion’s festival booth. EPCOT is currently hosting the Flower & Garden Festival, but it looks like Refreshment Port will be closed for most of the festival, if not for the whole duration.
A new permit was filed with the contractor being “Icarus Exhibits Inc.” There is no expiration date on the permit to indicate when this work might be finished. It was filed by Walt Disney Imagineering and includes the description to “install set elements”, indicating this kiosk might face more guest-facing changes than was originally thought.
The Walt Disney World website does not list a reopening date for Refreshment Port. The calendar is currently available through May 9, and the venue is still listed as closed through that date. The festival runs through June 1.
