TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A child is seriously injured after jumping out of a moving vehicle in Franklin County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle was driving on US 98, east of the Franklin County School.
The 7-year-old child was in the back seat of the car when she unbuckled herself and jumped into the front passenger seat. The child tried to roll down the window, but her mother rolled it back up, according to FHP.
The child then opened the passenger door and jumped out. The vehicle was driving around 55 miles per hour at the time, FHP said.
The mother immediately stopped the car and bystanders called 911, per FHP.
The child was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.
