A suspicious armed person was reported outside of an Orlando school according to local police.
According to the Orlando Police Department, there was a police investigation underway at Boone High School after the school received a call reporting a suspicious armed person outside the campus.
As a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown while officers conducted a thorough search of the area, according to local law enforcement.
Blankner School, located next door, was placed on a secure status out of an abundance of caution.
The lockdown at Boone High School and Blankner has been lifted.
OPD police officers conducted a thorough search of the campus and surrounding area and did not locate any suspicious individuals or threats. There is no threat to the campus, according to OPD.
“The Orlando Police Department appreciates the cooperation of students, staff, and parents as officers worked to ensure everyone’s safety,” OPD stated.
Orange County Public Schools is the public school district for Orlando and Orange County in Central Florida.
