Rain and thunderstorms expected in the early afternoon – Orlando Sentinel

Central Florida residents should expect rain in the afternoon.

There is a slight chance of showers between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., then a chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m., according to NWS Melbourne.

Rain chances are at 50 percent with new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday will also be sunny with a high near 85.

There is a high risk or life-threatening rip currents at Central Florida Atlantic beaches.

Small craft should exercise caution near inlets and over offshore waters.
