TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – One man is behind bars following a deadly weekend shooting on Faringdon Drive.
According to arrest documents, the shooting stemmed from a fight between several people who had an ongoing dispute.
Several people gathered on the day of the shooting for the fight. Detectives reviewed cell phone video of the incident as part of the investigation.
That video shows, the victim, Donald Thomas, attempt to break up the fight between several women.
Davis is charged with murder and aggravated battery following a deadly shooting on Faringdon Drive, according to arrest documents.(Leon County Jail)
The suspect, Jessie Davis V, hits one of the women in the head with a handgun, according to arrest documents. After hitting her, Thomas approached Davis “in an apparent attempt to stop him.”
Arrest papers said Thomas could be seen “swinging his arms to his side and his hands appeared to be empty.”

Thomas continued to approach Davis, a gunshot is heard and Thomas begins to fall, according to arrest documents.
After conducting various interviews with witnesses, Davis was identified as the suspect and ultimately arrested.
Davis is charged with aggravated battery and murder.
Court records show he was denied bond on Thursday.
