FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—Chocolate prices are up 14% earlier this year, just in time for Easter Sunday.
WINK News anchors Corey Lazar and Taylor Petras went shopping to find the best deals on Easter candy. Drug stores offered the biggest savings.
CVS is offering 25% off candy, including Reese’s Eggs. Walgreens has a buy one, get one for a dollar deal on the same product.
At Walgreens, Stover bunnies are buy one, get one half off. Cadbury Eggs are buy five, get five free.
Target and Walmart also have Easter candy available. At Target, a six-pack of Reese’s Eggs costs $6.29, and at Walmart, it’s almost $6.
Hershey’s chocolate eggs are $5.29 at Target and $4.97 at Walmart. Cadbury Eggs are $1.49 at Target and $1.24 at Walmart.
According to RetailMeNot, 37% of people are looking for deals and sales on chocolates due to high prices. Another 26% say they’re cutting back on buying altogether.
More than half of millennials say they will be buying Easter staples despite the price increases.
