OVIEDO, Fla. — The City of Oviedo will launch its first 2026 “Art in the Chambers” exhibition on Monday, April 6, featuring a collection of paintings by Hagerty High School students.
The display will be hosted at the Oviedo City Council Chambers.
This event marks the second year of the “Art in the Chambers” program, which brings local artwork into the municipal building at 400 Alexandria Blvd. This installment is the fourth exhibition held since the initiative began.
The upcoming display includes 30 paintings created by students under the leadership of art teacher Omar Otero. In addition to the student work, Otero is contributing a painted door to the collection.
The students used chickens as the central theme for the exhibition. Within that specific subject matter, each student chose an individual artistic style to represent the theme.
While the exhibition is free to attend during regular city office hours, some of the featured artwork will be available for purchase. From these sales, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the Oviedo Public Art Fund.
A presentation featuring Otero and participating students will take place during the City Council meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026, starting at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition will remain on display through July 6, 2026.
