STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A man who was allegedly acting erratically in a Martin County neighborhood randomly attacked and stabbed a woman Thursday.
The woman was critically injured following the attack, and the suspect, identified as Kersten Francilus, 25, has been taken into custody, the sheriff’s office says.

MCSO says the incident occurred near SE Black Oak Lane in the Southwood community in Stuart. Deputies say neighbors began calling the sheriff’s office after a man was reported to be knocking on doors and acting erratically.
Deputies say the suspect encountered the woman in the street of the residential neighborhood. The suspect then began a vicious, unprovoked attack, stabbing her multiple times, the sheriff’s office says.
The suspect was quickly located following the attack.
