Miami Beach is 0-10 against Hialeah Gardens since February of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Hi-Tides will be playing at home against the Gladiators at 3:30 p.m. Miami Beach is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they’ve averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Miami Beach will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn’t score any runs back in March, then bounced right back against Miami Springs on Tuesday. The Hi-Tides blew past the Golden Hawks 16-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Hi-Tides as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Harmony Nunez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Nunez was also solid in the batter’s box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rebecca Baldi, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jennifer Aleman, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two RBI.

Miami Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .732. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Springs only posted an OBP of .440.

Meanwhile, Hialeah Gardens lost 21-7 to Goleman on Wednesday.

Vicky Pray stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she’s played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmin Allende, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Miami Beach’s victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Hialeah Gardens, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Thursday’s game will be a test for both teams’ pitchers. Miami Beach hasn’t had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. However, it’s not like Hialeah Gardens struggles in that department as they’ve averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
