ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA)— An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with a deadly arson that occurred on March 22nd that killed an 18-year-old woman and severely injured her sister, the St. Petersburg Police Department announced.
Detectives issued an arrest warrant on Mar. 30 for Charles Chambliss III, 18, for the deadly arson.

Chambliss turned himself in on April 1, and he was charged with felony murder and three counts of attempted felony murder.
According to officers, four people were inside the St. Petersburg home when Chambliss set fire to a car under the carport around 3:30 a.m.
The fire spread from the carport to the home, killing 18-year-old Angelina Anderson.

Chambliss lives nearby in the Coquina Key neighborhood and knows the family, officers said.
Anderson’s sister, 35-year-old Ashley Nero, remains hospitalized with serious burn injuries.
Nero’s two sons, a teenager and an 11-year-old, were also home at the time of the fire, but were not hurt, SPPD said.
Chambliss’ father, Charles Chambliss Jr, was also arrested after throwing away clothing items in a dumpster behind a closed business, police said.
Officers said he knew the clothing items might be relevant to the ongoing investigation involving his son. He was charged with tampering with physical evidence.
