The University of South Florida reported a bomb threat near its Tampa campus on Friday morning.

According to an emergency alert from the university, the threat was reported shortly after 11:15 a.m. at Fowler Avenue and USF Bull Run Drive, which is near Pizzo K-8 School and the Museum of Science and Innovation.

“Avoid area. Use caution. Emergency personnel on scene,” the report states.

The threat comes after weeks of heightened security at MacDill Air Force Base, where an explosive device was left outside of a visitors center for six days. Two siblings have been indicted in that case.

No further information about the threat at USF was immediately available.
