Some people living in an Orlando apartment complex said they were a little uneasy Friday after seeing a crime scene outside their door the night before. A WESH 2 crew could see police cruisers and a crime scene van could be seen at the Royal Isles apartment complex Thursday night. “I was worried it was really outside of my window. Too close to home,” said Yana Brown, who lives in the complex. ” …a whole bunch of police officers out there and my neighbors, everyone was just outside looking, trying to see what was going on.” By Friday afternoon, Orlando police hadn’t released any information about what happened. Brown said officers gave limited information while they were at the complex Thursday night. “That it was someone was shot and that this would just be closed off for awhile,” Brown said. Around 4:45 Friday, Orlando Police said officers responded to the apartment complex around 7:23 pm Thursday after reports of a shooting. They said officers learned the victim had left the scene in a car. They were taken to a hospital and are stable. The police department said: “This is an active investigation. To protect the integrity of the investigation we are unable to release any additional information.”Just down the road from the apartment complex, about a four-minute drive away on South Semoran, there was another scene Thursday night. Orlando police did not confirm if the two scenes were connected. A car was on the side of the road behind crime scene tape. There, before our crew arrived, a neighbor said she saw someone. “Lying on the floor right behind the red car there,” said Ivelisse Torres, who lives nearby. Orlando police have not released the age or identity of the person injured at the apartment complex.
