A man in his 50s was hospitalized early Saturday morning after being shot while playing a dice game at a motel on Jacksonville’s Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO Sgt. Mitlyng said officers responded to the shooting at the Metro Inn & Suites at 1055 Golfair Blvd. around 2:15 a.m.
Upon their arrival, Mitlyng said officers found the man who was shot, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was then taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“The initial investigation has revealed that the victim was playing dice outside the motel when the suspect approached and opened fire,” Mityling told First Coast News. “The suspect and all witnesses then fled the area.”
