Man shot early Saturday morning while playing dice near Moncrief Park, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was taken to the hospital on Saturday morning after he was shot while playing dice in the Moncrief Park neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the shooting occurred around 2:15 a.m. on Golfair Boulevard when the man who was playing dice outside a nearby motel was approached by someone else, who then opened fire.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, had non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident, police said.

JSO said the suspect and all witnesses fled the scene following the shooting.
