Jacksonville’s largest egg hunt returned at Riverfront Palooza downtown with more than 25,000 eggs

  • April 4, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A countdown from Mayor Donna Deegan kicked off Riverfront Palooza Saturday morning, and seconds later kids and families sprinted into Jacksonville’s largest egg hunt.

More than 25,000 eggs were spread across the Riverfront Plaza ahead of Easter.

“Last year, we did Friendship Fountain. Admittedly, we had a huge turnout last year, we had too few mini eggs this year,” said Garrett Callis, Community Programs manager with Jax Parks. “We’ve greatly increased that, as you can see, we’re rocking and rolling.”

The egg hunt featured take-off time for five different age groups ranging from 0-12.

“I love the fact that Jacksonville’s utilizing the space with the Landing gone now,” said parent William Guzman. “Making things happen here is, I think, super important, especially for the kids and stuff like that.”

Families could enjoy face painting, live music and other games.
