LAFC extended its record streak of consecutive clean sheets to start a season to six, with a 6-0 victory over Orlando City SC at BMO Stadium on Saturday night. LAFC improves its record to 5W-0L-1D in MLS regular-season play in 2026 and stands in first place in both the Western Conference and the Supporters’ Shield standings as the only unbeaten team in the league.

Denis Bouanga registered a first-half hat trick (20’ 23’, 28’) and Son Heung-Min tallied four assists in the first half as LAFC leapt out to a 5-0 halftime advantage. An Orlando own goal (7’) and a strike by right back Sergi Palencia (39’) accounted for LAFC’s other two goals in the first 45 minutes.

In the 70th minute, forward Jacob Shaffelburg, making his LAFC and BMO Stadium debut, lofted a cross into the box from the left wing that Tyler Boyd finished with his head. Boyd’s first goal in an LAFC shirt made the score 6-0.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris made six saves en route to his sixth clean sheet of the 2026 regular season—half of his season total from last season (12), which ranked second in MLS.

Next up for LAFC is another home match at BMO Stadium on Tuesday night, April 7, against defending Concacaf Champions Cup winners Cruz Azul in the CCC Quarterfinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT. It is the first leg of their two-game, home-and-away matchup in the CCC Quarterfinals, with the second leg played next Tuesday, April 14, at Estadio Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla, Mexico. The winner on aggregate goals advances to the CCC Semifinals.

LAFC returns to MLS regular-season play on Saturday April 11 when it visits the Portland Timbers. All MLS matches are broadcast live on Apple TV, with local radio coverage on ESPN LA 710 AM, the ESPN LA app, KFWB La Mera Mera 980 AM (Spanish), and K-Radio 1230 AM (Korean).
