The No. 2 Keiser Seahawks (12-1, 8-0 SUN) flexed their muscles with a commanding 40-2 win over No. 5 St. Thomas (8-3, 5-2 SUN). Capitalizing on every red zone opportunity, the Seahawks’ offense punched in five touchdowns, three via the air.
The action kicked off with Keiser starting strong from their own 14-yard line. Ava Wallace, orchestrating the offense with precision, connected with Tremesha Harris for a pivotal 19-yard gain. The drive peaked with a 3-yard touchdown toss to Dakota Moberg at 7:05, followed by a seamless conversion pass to Ashlea Klam for the extra point, setting the tone at 7-0.
The Bobcats tried to claw back but the Seahawks’ defense, punctuated by a QB flag pull for a loss from Kylee Caetano, kept them at bay.
Keiser kept the throttle down in the second quarter. Wallace delivered an 8-yard touchdown pass to Harris at 9:45, and then rushed in the extra point herself, stretching the lead. Ashlea Klam’s interception further stifled STU’s momentum. Wallace continued her aerial assault with a 20-yard pass to Moberg, setting up Janasia Wilson’s 1-yard touchdown rush with mere seconds before halftime. The Seahawks strutted into the break leading 21-0.
The third quarter was a masterclass in defense, with Caetano leading the charge. Two QB flag pulls, one in tandem with Hannah Jayes, throttled STU’s advances. Wallace exploited the defensive dominance, hitting Moberg for a 26-yard touchdown at 7:07. Despite a missed extra point, the Seahawks held firm at 27-0.
In the fourth quarter, Wallace and Moberg connected for a crucial 16-yard play, moving Keiser out of the danger zone. Wallace capped the drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Klam at 6:25, pushing the lead to 33-0.
STU managed a defensive PAT, but the Seahawks’ defense had the final say. Sarah Villareal snatched an interception from Lia Cruz, returning it 16 yards to the Bobcats’ 9. Adrienne Rivera seized the opportunity, rushing in a 2-yard touchdown with 2:23 left, and nailed the PAT, sealing the 40-2 statement win.
