A months-long investigation has led to the arrest of a Miami-Dade County employee accused of improperly issuing driver’s license documents and misusing public systems.

Authorities say Waldersee Oge, who had been transferred from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office, was taken into custody on April 2 following a joint investigation involving the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office and federal partners.

According to the arrest affidavit, the case involves alleged official misconduct, unlawful use of public systems, and transactions completed without required in-person verification.

Officials say the activity was first flagged through internal monitoring and compliance processes, prompting a referral to law enforcement.

“We identified illegal activity… and coordinated closely with law enforcement,” Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez said in a statement. “Any form of fraud, misconduct, or abuse of public trust will not be tolerated.”

Oge is no longer employed with the tax collector’s office. State officials are now reviewing all transactions connected to the case, and any necessary corrective actions will be taken as the investigation continues.

The case remains active.
