The Miami Film Festival, presented by Miami Dade College (MDC), returns for its 43rd edition.
With nearly 160 films from 45 countries, top-tier talent will be on display. This year also marks the launch of the Miami Film Fund, a collaboration with ArtesMiami to support filmmakers with direct ties to Miami and the Cuban-American community.
Running April 9–19, the festival opens with “Tuner,” Academy Award-winning director Daniel Roher’s first narrative feature, starring Leo Woodall as a gifted young piano tuner whose skills draw the attention of criminals.
Honorees include Adam Scott, Bob Odenkirk, Danielle Brooks, Lili Reinhart and Matt Bomer.
Notable screenings include the world premieres of documentaries such as Jon Kean’s “The Hollywood Rabbi” and Keanu Reeves-executive-produced “Madwoman’s Game,” as well as Peacock’s new South Florida-set series “M.I.A.” and Brazilian hacker thriller “The King of the Internet.”
“This year’s lineup reflects an extraordinary moment for Miami Film Festival, featuring films from celebrated filmmakers like Steven Soderbergh, Sofia Coppola, Gregg Araki, and John Carney, alongside bold new discoveries from around the world,” said Lauren Cohen, Director of Programming. “With films from 45 countries and our largest-ever Made-in-MIA program, it’s a lineup that feels both truly global and authentically rooted in Miami’s filmmaking community.”
The festival will also include events such as Q&A sessions and panel discussions before and after select screenings.
Screenings will take place across Miami, including the Olympia Theater, MDC’s Koubek Center, Silverspot Cinema and Coral Gables Art Cinema.
