Aerial photographer bioreconstruct has given us a behind-the-scenes look at the drained Cosmos Fountain of Epic Universe as the water fixture undergoes updates or maintenance.
New aerial imagery from X user bioreconstruct shows that the Cosmos Fountain Park at Universal Epic Universe has been emptied as construction crews work inside and around the park’s central water feature.
The fountain, which operates as a daytime visual centerpiece and serves as the setting for a nighttime water show, appears to be undergoing infrastructure and effects upgrades, potentially in advance of an enhanced nighttime show.
The aerial angles reveal one area of the fountain’s grassy esplanade that is otherwise totally walled off from the view of regular park guests. In this fenced-in area, we can see a small gathering of workers right on the fountain’s edge, surrounded by various construction materials and other temporary fixtures.
Most notably, we can see a massive arrangement of bright blue wiring stemming from the area where workers have gathered. The blue cables extend toward the center of the fountain before diverting and splitting at several points to connect to the various water effect fixtures and other support structures throughout the base of the fountain. More wires appear to be coiled near the workers, suggesting these connections may be undergoing replacement or extension for new effects.
Though Universal has not officially announced any changes to the fountain’s nighttime program, the developments seen here add to a growing list of indications that suggest a revamped nightly experience may be on the horizon.
Just a few days ago, we noticed new job postings from Universal that correspond to show technicians. Last December, we also covered a trademark filing for a new logo from Universal for a show called “Celestial Goodnight”. Most notably of all so far, bioreconstruct also spotted work on a new fireworks launch pad being developed on the water reservoir in front of the Universal Helios Grand Hotel.
