Crash causes major delays on Sunshine Skyway northbound

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A crash on the Pinellas County side of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge has caused all northbound lanes to shut down.

Traffic has slowed to a crawl in the southbound lanes.

While both lanes are blocked off, traffic cameras did show vehicles passing on the shoulder.

Officials have urged drivers to check alternate routes.

The northbound lanes are closed at the 12 mile post due to a fatal traffic crash.

Motorists should see ultimate northbound routes for the next several hours.
