The event, hosted by the town’s Anchorage Advisory Committee, is being held at Bayside Veterans Park from Noon to 3PM. The event started years ago as a way to celebrate and recognize the boaters who patronize the Mooring Field and “support the economic and environmental vitality of FMB.”

The event is free and open to the public. You can purchase a ticket for $28 which will get you a meal from Snug Harbor. Everyone over 18 can enter a drawing for many prizes donated by various businesses and organizations throughout the beach community. Winners will be pulled starting at 1:30 and you must be present to win. There is no cost to enter the drawing.

Committee Chair Chris King says starting last year and now expanding this year, we want to celebrate all the boaters who cruise to and around Fort Myers Beach enjoying all the community has to offer. “And we want to help make connections between those boaters and our fabulous nonprofits and related organizations. It’s a way to educate boaters about what FMB has to offer, educate the public about the Mooring Field and Marine-related nonprofits and create an annual community event for the exchange of information and relationship-building across multiple constituents. We invite everyone to show up, make connections and celebrate boating and our community.”

The following organizations will be in attendance: Bay Oaks, The Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Estero island Garden Club, Fort Myers Beach Art Association, Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, Fort Myers Beach Yacht Club, Friends of The Library, Friends of The Mound House, Keep Lee County Beautiful, Native Plant Society, Pod Protectors, San Carlos Bay Sail & Power Squadron, Turtle Time, What’s Up FMB, The Fort Myers Beach Lions Club.
