The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will host its 40th Annual Celebrity Chefs Tasting Luncheon & Silent Auction on Thursday, April 9, at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

The event, scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., brings together local celebrities — including media personalities, government officials and business leaders — who will serve samples of their favorite recipes. Among this year’s featured participants is First Coast News Anchor Anthony Austin.

Proceeds from the annual luncheon benefit The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida and its programs supporting individuals and families in need across the region.

The event begins with a silent auction offering a wide variety of items, including artwork, jewelry, designer accessories, dining experiences, spa treatments, sports memorabilia, weekend getaways and golf packages. Organizers say the auction raises thousands of dollars each year to fund essential community services.

With more than 60 members, the Women’s Auxiliary organizes the fundraiser annually. Over the past four decades, the event has generated more than $2 million, making it one of the organization’s largest ongoing fundraising efforts.

“It’s always a privilege to work alongside our community in serving those who need it most,” said Maj. Keath Biggers, area commander for The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida. “Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’re able to continue offering vital services through The Towers Center of Hope. Their involvement in this event truly makes a difference for individuals and families facing difficult times.”

Individual tickets for the luncheon are $40 and are available for purchase through the organization. For more information or to secure tickets, contact Special Events Coordinator Darlene Uhler-Batiste at (904) 301-4841 or purchase your tickets by clicking here.

The Salvation Army has served the Jacksonville community since 1891, providing assistance to those experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, domestic violence and other crises, along with disaster response services throughout Northeast Florida.
