PORT ST. LUCIE — An adults-only circus is coming to town.

Funny, bawdy, and wild with death-defying acts, aerialists, contortionists and most of all — comedy.

Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium runs April 9 through 19,, at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center.

It’s a circus of the highest level. A one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that is delightfully inappropriate, shockingly fun, and utterly unforgettable.

Ticketholders must be 18 years old or older to enjoy the show which is also filled with sophisticated humor, double entendres, suggestive and unusual visuals and references to drinking. The one-of-a-kind circus was founded by Fort Lauderdale native Allison Blei, and her husband, Ivan España, a fifth-generation member of a celebrated Mexican-American circus family. Blei describes the show as naughty.

The idea came during a night of drinking Crown Royal Whiskey with her husband.

“And we still serve it at the show,” Blei told the Observer in January.

Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium debuted in 2018.

Yes, the peculiarium, staged under the big top, is also home to Dr. Elixir’s Drink-Ory Garden. The beer garden opens one hour prior to showtime and serves beer, wine, cocktails, food and snacks.

There is no bench seating, each seat is cushioned in the climate-controlled tent.

Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium is for adults who like their fun served bold, bizarre, and just a little bit twisted. There are 12 performances running April 9-19.

Tickets start at $51.50 and may be purchased online at midfloridaeventcenter.com. You must be 18 or older and show photo ID. Senior discounts are offered to those 65 and older. Parking is free.
