Ybor City is getting a new concert hall.

The 4,300-seat venue will be part of Gasworx, the burgeoning neighborhood being built by local businessman Darryl Shaw and Washington D.C.-based developer Kettler.

The venue is slated to open in late 2028. It will be built on North 15th Street, a short walk from Ybor’s existing Seventh Avenue entertainment district.

“Ybor City has a distinct character and a long tradition of nightlife and live music,” president of development at Kettler, James Nozar, said in a statement. “Our goal is to create a venue that carries that legacy forward by adding a new destination for residents, visitors, and artists.”

The venue will be run by Live Nation. It is projected to generate $80 million in annual economic impact and support roughly 440 jobs, according to Kettler.

The vintage-inspired design will include a marquee with exposed lightbulbs, a brick exterior and a second-level balcony.

“A vibrant entertainment venue in Ybor City brings jobs, foot traffic, and new energy to the district, enhancing quality of life and helping Tampa attract and retain the talented workforce that fuels our long-term growth,” president & CEO of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council, Craig J. Richard, said in a statement.

This new addition to the neighborhood comes at a time when other smaller, independent venues are struggling to make ends meet. Blocks away, Crowbar, a longstanding local concert space, is set to close permanently at the end of the summer.
