Tikvah, a foundation that aims to form young Jews with confidence and civic courage, hosted their Marom Spring Summit in Miami on March 15-16.
The summit brought together 170 educators and lay leaders from Jewish day schools across North America to discuss Jewish education today, including how to cultivate civic literacy and renew Jewish ideas and culture.
The program featured speakers including Eva Moskowitz, founder and CEO of Success Academy; Shilo Brooks, president and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center and host of the podcast “Old School with Shilo Brooks”; and Dan Lerman, an innovator in academic coaching and exam preparation.
A standout moment included keynote speaker Dr. Ruth Wisse, a renowned scholar of Jewish literature and ideas, in dialogue with Tikvah’s senior director of day school strategies, Dr. Doran Katz, on renewing Jewish strength and spirit. Tikvah also announced the launch of a pilot cohort of five day schools, including Katz Hillel Day School of Boca Raton.
“This work is fundamentally about building excellent institutions,” said Caroline Bryk, senior director of day school strategies at Tikvah. “The Summit is designed to give educators the intellectual resources, curricular tools, and professional community they need to form students of knowledge, character, and purpose.”
